...held each morning at 9am sharp.  Colonel Meynell himself would take the service which involved the reading of prayers and possibly some scripture from the Bible.  His daughter Dorothy Meynell would play the organ.  The servants were all expected to attend as well as the family and on Sundays they would go across to the church which was situated nearby.  However, the family would walk from the back door of the house leading off the Garden Hall and follow the path down to the church while the servants were expected to walk around the boundary of the grounds to avoid being seen by the family.
