The plan was that he would swap things over when my mum had gone out but as there were always banquet staff wandering around the house, that wasn’t possible. However, we came up with a cunning plan! As we were always coming home in the early hours from parties, it seemed a good idea for us to swap the armour over in the dead of night whilst everyone else was in bed. This was actually quite scary and it was a good job we had lots of dutch courage inside of us!  The header picture shows my dad dressed up...

...honed the Police again and told them that we had broken into her room and stolen items from it. Once again the Police went round to Kev’s house and took us both down to the Police station – apparently I was aiding and abetting this time but when they found out my dad had told us to do it and they were his things as much as hers, they had to let us go as it was a domestic situation again! However, it was a few more months before my mum discovered that the music box had gone! ...ring the Police to say my dad was rampaging around the house with his gun (he had a licence by the way!) and scaring all the banquet staff. When the Police arrived, my dad was doing no such thing; he was watching TV. The banquet staff were all hiding in the woods (as they’d been told to do, we found out afterwards) so that it looked believable – unfortunately, the Police couldn’t really do much about it as it was a domestic situation on private land. In the middle of all this my dad had acquired an Amazon parrot (from the jungle, not the online store!) Apparently he came as part of an antique deal from a dealer who owed my dad some money. My dad agreed t...
