...regarded consultant at the local Burton General Hospital and it seems they lived in some style at the Hall. They employed six staff including a Housekeeper, who lived at the Lodge. Two of the floors were sumptuously furnished along with expensive paintings on the walls. The bedrooms were filled with lovely furniture including magnificent four poster beds and Regency day beds! All this just for the two of them! They lived at the Hall for about 10 years when they left and moved on to pastures new.

The monks had full use of the Hall and lived in the Lodge and Gatehouse. Before they received the funding they started their building work, demolishing the kitchens and laundry rooms at one end of the house as this was going to be a swimming pool.
