...child’s laughter inside. Carefully she listened at the door then shouted, “Who’s there?” More laughter followed and as she went to try the door again it flew open and a cold gust of air ruffled her skirts as it went by. Molly screamed and ran back into the kitchen.
“There’s a ghost in the pantry Cook!”, she shouted. “I felt it run by me.”
“What nonsense!”, answered Cook. “It’s just a draught no doubt – it’s meant to be cold to keep the food chilled.”
But Molly wasn’t convinced. When she spoke to other members of staff they said they’d experienced the same thing despite there being nothing wrong with the handle. ...A Christmas Celebration #89
